mcp connector

Run your whole business in plain sentences.

With the MCP connector you link Fikst to your own AI, such as Claude. Then you type what you want and your AI does it in Fikst: make a quote, move a job, export the F-gas register. With your login and your permissions, and anything that sends something to a customer asks for your approval first.

  1. you

Schedule the leak check at Ruud Smit’s on Thursday with Marcel.

  2. your ai, such as claude

Understands what you ask and picks the actions itself. You never type a tool name.

  3. fikst.

Carries them out with your permissions, within your own company. Hundreds of actions, from quote to F-gas register.

How a request travels: from your sentence, through your AI, to Fikst.

what it is

What is the MCP connector?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol: an open standard that lets an AI assistant work with other software. Fikst has its own MCP server. Connect it to your AI, and your AI can carry out hundreds of actions in Fikst, for the role you are signed in with.

The connector has been tested with Claude. MCP is an open standard that ChatGPT also supports, but we have not tested that route ourselves yet. The connector is included in your subscription, and what your own AI does itself uses no Fikst credit.

  • Customers and salesEnquiries, customers, quotes with lines from your own products, follow-up.
  • Planning and techniciansWork orders, the planning board, absence, hours and service requests.
  • MoneyInvoices, instalments, purchase invoices, the bank and the VAT return. It does not transfer money.
  • F-gas and maintenanceInstallations with refrigerant and charge, leak checks, the register and maintenance contracts.
  • Set-upTypes of work, templates, automations, teams and roles.

examples

A working day in plain sentences.

With the MCP connector you ask your AI for everything you would otherwise do in Fikst yourself: quotes, planning, invoices, the F-gas register and the set-up. Below are thirteen requests from an ordinary working day. On the left is what you type, on the right what Fikst does.

  1. planning

    Handling a sick day

    operations manager types

Ismail is off sick today. Put that in the planning and see what needs to happen with his jobs.

    1. recordsIsmail Yilmaz is absent today, sick. Without a reason or diagnosis, because that does not belong in it.
    2. findsHis three jobs for today. They simply stay where they are until someone moves them.
    3. suggestsTwo jobs to Bjorn Kuipers and the third to tomorrow. It asks first whether that is all right.

When it moves a job, the same check applies as on the planning board. It schedules nothing for a technician who is absent.

  2. technician

Reporting a fault from the job

    technician, at the customer’s types

I am at Ruud Smit’s for the maintenance. He says the air conditioner in the attic is leaking too. Make a report of it.

    1. createsA service request: the air conditioner in the attic is leaking, reported during today’s maintenance.
    2. calculatesThe response and resolution time from your own agreements per priority. Whether it falls under a contract or warranty, Fikst takes from the installation.

The office sees the request straight away under service requests. If the technician cannot look up the customer, the name and address go into the request and the office links it.

  3. service

    From request to scheduled job

    planner types

Turn Ruud Smit’s request into a work order and schedule it on Thursday morning with Marcel de Wit.

    1. createsA work order from the request. Customer, installation and priority come along, and the request stays attached.
    2. schedulesThursday morning with Marcel de Wit, through the same check as the planning board.

Marcel sees the job on Thursday in his work order app, with what the customer reported.

  4. sales

    Making and sending a quote

    salesperson types

Make a quote for Femke van Dijk: a 2.5 kW Daikin Perfera with installation. Send it when it is ready.

    1. findsFemke van Dijk in your customers, and the air conditioner and the installation in your own products.
    2. createsA draft quote with the prices from your catalogue. Fikst calculates the total itself, with and without VAT.

    asks first

Which quote, the amount, the number of lines, how long it is valid and who it goes to. Only after your yes does the e-mail go out.

    Send Do not send

Femke gets a link to the quote on the web. Only once the e-mail has really been sent is the quote marked as sent.

  5. planning

Three slots for a site survey

    adviser types

Offer Lotte de Graaf three slots for a site survey next week, in my calendar.

    1. checksWhat is already in your calendar next week.
    2. preparesThree slots as options in your calendar, so nothing else gets booked there. Lotte picks one on her own page; the other two then lapse by themselves.

It sends nothing itself. You send the e-mail with the link from Fikst with the normal send button, so you see the text first.

  6. sales

    Following up open quotes

    owner types

Which quotes have been open for two weeks without a response? Put our follow-up on them.

    1. findsThe quotes sent more than two weeks ago that are still open.
    2. listsPer quote the customer, the amount and the day it went out.

    asks first

Which follow-up goes on which quote. After your yes the steps go out by themselves, including the e-mails to the customer.

    Start follow-up Do not start

A quote that was not sent from Fikst is skipped. The same follow-up runs only once at a time per quote.

  7. finance

    Reading in a purchase invoice

    accounts types

Read the invoice from the wholesaler that came in this morning and prepare it.

    1. readsYour own AI reads the PDF: supplier, invoice number, dates, lines and amounts. That uses no Fikst credit.
    2. checksFikst recalculates whether the amounts and the VAT add up, looks at the dates and the IBAN, recognises the supplier and sees whether the invoice is already in.
    3. preparesEverything as a draft on the purchase invoice. Nothing has been approved yet.

You check the draft and confirm. Only then is it final.

  8. finance

    Invoicing finished jobs

    accounts types

Make invoices for all work orders that are ready for invoicing.

    1. findsThe work orders marked Ready for invoicing.
    2. showsPer work order the customer, and whether an invoice already exists for it. Materials, hours and VAT come along by themselves.

    asks first

Which work orders it makes an invoice for. It cannot reverse a second invoice for the same work through the connector, so without your yes it makes nothing.

    Make invoices Do not make

The invoices are ready as drafts. Sending is a separate step, and that asks first too.

  9. finance

    Reconciling the bank

    accounts types

Reconcile today’s bank statements and show who has not paid for more than thirty days.

    1. reconcilesWhat is certain, it books straight away: the invoice goes to paid or partly paid. When in doubt you get a proposal, the rest stays open.
    2. listsWhat is outstanding, split into not yet due, up to thirty, up to sixty and up to ninety days, and beyond.

It does not transfer money. It records what came in.

  10. f-gas

    Preparing leak checks

    job planner types

Which installations need a leak check in the next two months? Make work orders for them.

    1. findsThe installations whose next leak check falls in that period. Fikst works out that date itself from the refrigerant and the charge.
    2. createsA work order per installation, for the right customer. Without a date and technician they are ready as drafts to be scheduled.

If an installation has no charge recorded, the obligation stays unknown. Fikst does not fill in a number for it.

  11. f-gas

The F-gas register for the inspector

    owner types

The inspector is coming next week. Export this year’s F-gas register for me.

    1. collectsPer action the date, the equipment with address and customer, the refrigerant, what was topped up or recovered, the leak check, the work order and who did it.
    2. keeps apartTopping up and recovery are listed separately and are never offset against each other.
    3. puts at the topYour company certificate, with number, issuing body and validity.

It also states what this overview does not show. It changes or sends nothing here.

  12. maintenance

    Getting a maintenance contract signed

    salesperson types

Prepare a maintenance contract for Joost Hendriks, for his heat pump, one service a year. Send it to him for signature.

    1. createsA maintenance contract with one service a year. Fikst works out the next maintenance date from the start date.
    2. linksJoost’s heat pump to the contract.

    asks first

This is a real e-mail to a customer. Without your approval nothing goes out.

    Send Do not send

Joost signs online. Only once the e-mail has been sent is the contract marked as awaiting signature.

  13. set-up

Setting up a new type of work

    owner types

Create a new type of work, Heat pump maintenance, with its own checklist and a standard duration of ninety minutes.

    1. createsThe type of work, with a standard duration of an hour and a half and a checklist the technician goes through when finishing.
    2. setsWhether a finished job counts as a maintenance visit in the contract history.

A moment later you pick it for a new work order. If something can only be done in the app, your AI says so.

Examples from a working day. What your AI writes back exactly differs per conversation. The names come from Noordkoel, our demo company.

your approval

Anything that sends something asks first.

Reading and changing are separate actions, and anything that changes or sends something asks first. For e-mails and for steps that cannot be undone, Fikst has your AI show you an overview first. Only after your yes does it happen.

  • E-mailing a quote or invoice

You first see which document, the amount and who it goes to. A sent invoice cannot be called back.

  • Starting a follow-up

After that the steps go out by themselves, so you first see which follow-up goes on which quote, customer or work order.

  • Making an invoice from a work order

You first see which work order and customer it is about, and whether an invoice already exists for it.

  • E-mailing a contract for signature

A real e-mail to a customer, so without your approval nothing goes out.

  • Inviting several customers to the portal at once

Every invitation is a real e-mail. For more than one customer at a time it asks for your approval.

  • Really deleting something

Hardly ever happens: records are deactivated and can be restored. What can be removed, such as a template, shows first what would happen.

What it does not do. Transfer money, make images or video, or read your conversations, memory or files in your AI. It only talks to Fikst.

Your role decides. An administrator reaches everything, a technician a small part for their own work, an unknown role the minimum. The connector cannot stretch your permissions.

connecting

Connected in three steps.

You add the Fikst address in your AI, sign in to your own Fikst and ask what you want. You do not need an API key for it.

  1. Add Fikst

Add a connector in your AI with this address. Every company uses the same address; who you are decides which company you end up in.

    https://mcp.fikst.cloud/mcp
  2. Sign in to Fikst

Your AI sends you to your own Fikst. There you sign in and approve the connector. Your password stays with Fikst, and you disconnect in your AI.

  3. Ask what you want

In your own words. Before your AI changes a quote, work order or invoice, it checks what is already running for that customer, and if your request can go two ways, it asks you.

questions

Questions about the connector.

About the AI features in Fikst itself, such as dictating a work order? Then see the questions about AI in Fikst.

What is an MCP connector?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets an AI assistant work with other software. Fikst has its own MCP server. Connect it to your AI, such as Claude, and your AI can carry out hundreds of actions in Fikst: from making a quote to exporting the F-gas register. You type plain sentences and your AI picks the action itself.

Does it work with Claude and ChatGPT?

The connector has been tested with Claude. You add Fikst there as a connector with the connector address and sign in to your own Fikst. MCP is an open standard that ChatGPT also supports, but we have not tested that route ourselves yet. Either way, your AI needs to support MCP connectors.

Can my AI send something to a customer without me?

No. E-mailing a quote, invoice or contract first shows an overview, with the amount and who it goes to, and only happens after your approval. The same applies to starting a follow-up and to inviting several customers to the portal at once. The connector cannot transfer money at all.

What does the connector cost?

The connector is included in your subscription, with no separate licence. What your own AI does itself, such as reading a purchase invoice, uses no Fikst credit. If your AI has one of Fikst’s AI features do the work, that comes out of the credit every company starts with.

See what Fikst costs
Can a technician see more through the AI than in Fikst?

No. Your AI works with the login and the permissions of whoever is signed in. An administrator reaches everything, a technician a small part for their own work. The connector cannot stretch those permissions, and every read and write action stays within your own company.

How do I start?

Add a connector in your AI with the address https://mcp.fikst.cloud/mcp. Your AI then sends you to your own Fikst to sign in and approve the connector. Your password stays with Fikst. After that, you just ask what you want.

Technical guide to the connector
What if my AI cannot do something?

Then it says so, and it records it for us, without names, addresses or amounts. We read those reports every night, so we know what still needs to come. A built-in guide tells your AI per subject what can be done through the connector and what only in the app.

What is the difference with the Assistant in Fikst?

The Assistant is part of Fikst itself and uses your company’s AI credit. With your own AI you work through the connector in the chat you already use, and what it does itself uses no credit. Both work with your login and your permissions.

All AI features in Fikst
Does Fikst read my conversations with my AI?

No. The connector only talks to Fikst. It does not read your conversations, your memory or your files in your AI.
